Chawton House Chapbooks

I have produced my own set of six chapbooks for Chawton House Library. Chapbooks were produced in the 17th and 18th century as cheap pamphlet books as moral guidance using short stories to educate the masses cheaply. They were peddled by Chapmen from village to village and very few survive today. Chapbooks were not necessarily illustrated with images that were relevant to the text. I have taken short stories from the books I have read and in true chapbook tradition illustrated them with my own little drawings, lino cuts or photographs.
