The next book is inspired by The Adventures of a Rupee by Helenus Scott, 1792. I have taken text from the book which explains the Birth of the Rupee and the spirits it has within it to enable the rupee to find out the character of a person it comes into contact with. There a 4 spirits, 3 inferior ones and 1 superior spirit. The rupee sends his inferior spirits to gather information from the brains of the various characters that appear in the book. My book contains the rock from Thibet where the gold was melted down to make the Rupee and the formed gold Rupee before it started it's travels from Ind...

After reading The Adventures of a Watch, author unknown, 1788 I made this small concertina book which folds out of a silver watch case. All the watch wanted to be remembered for, as it's epitaph, was a permanent and lasting honour for being a GOOD WATCH.

After reading The Adventures of a seven shilling piece by Ann Mary Hamilton, 1811, I produced this book. The original book is in two small volumes but within it mentions 142 different characters. I wanted to bring these characters to life. I gathered 142 images of celebrities, actors, authors and The Royal Family mostly from donated magazines from the hairdressers and assigned each character with a name from the book. These are placed in the order they appear in the original book along with a piece of text taken from the book. This was a mammoth task and technically very challenging, with the page...

Another book for my exhibition in October at Chawton House Library.  Damon gave Iris a looking glass that could speak to her about her wondrous beauty. The book is inspired by reading Aphra Behn's La Montre: The Lover's Watch, 1868. The last chapter in the book is called The Looking- Glass and has been written from the object's perspective. I think this may be the earliest "IT" book written.

My book needs to be read using a mirror as the text is back to front. The cover is made from mirror card and this can be used to read the text. A portrait of Iris is on the reverse.

This is a fan book inspired by reading La Montre; The Lover's Watch by Aphra Behn, 1686.

Iris has given her beloved Damon a watch with a 24 hour face engraved with the rules of love on every hour and every half hour he must sigh because he is so much in love with Iris. It folds into a slim book with a coloured tassle.
